The Vacancy
The Opportunity
Covering the South London area, the Embalmer will be responsible for the care of the deceased for the time they are within our care by providing technical and specialist knowledge to ensure correct care of the deceased, treating the deceased person with respect and observing complete confidentiality at all times. Carry out embalming, first offices and feature setting in accordance with the families wishes and religious beliefs, including assisting with ritual washing where required. Deliver exceptional client service and care of all the deceased in a caring and professional manner, observing the dignity of the deceased at all times.
To manage the mortuary areas to ensure they are maintained to the highest standard of presentation, hygiene and repair and that all policies and procedures are being followed within the mortuary areas. To provide support to the operational teams in regards to the handling and care of the deceased, including preparation of the deceased for viewing as well as all necessary care before the day of the funeral.
To provide training to colleagues on first offices and presentation and to act as a mentor for our internal trainee embalming initiative, for which additional payment will be made.
To comply with company policies and procedures. Assist with administration and operational duties as required. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance. Communicate ideas that you feel would benefit the business. Ensure compliance with the company’s Health & Safety policy. Act as an ambassador for the company at all times.

About You
You must be BIE qualified or equivalent, have previous experience of working with bereaved families and the deceased and have a full UK driving licence.
Salary includes, London Weighing Allowance and Mentoring Allowance.
